Our Story

We took the saying “you have to walk far to find shadey” to an ultimately new level

Our story began like most other couples; texting, phone calls, and then the first date… thousands of miles away from home! On our first date, we danced and spoke the night away into the wee hours of the morning. As weeks went by, I, Christal, started calling TJ my boyfriend before it was official, and everyone started calling him Christal’s boyfriend! Talk about speaking things into being! We officially started dating in October 2013.

As the days, months and years rolled by, our love and commitment towards each other grew exponentially. We’ve celebrated numerous milestones together, and supported each other during extra tough times. We got engaged in October 2017, so to complete the triad, making October our special month, we are tying the knot in October 2018!

A special note from a friend explains us best: “If there was ever a tale of kindred hearts that found themselves again throughout time and space, it would probably look like the way in which your love for each other exists.”

Dress Code

Dressy Casual

For the Ladies

Try a cocktail dress or a dressy skirt and top. An elegant pantsuit is also appropriate. Floor-length gowns, however, would be inappropriate. Pair with heels, nice wedges or elegant flats. Avoid traditional heels that will likely get stuck in the sand and grass!

For the Men

Men could wear a collared button-down or polo and chinos; a jacket isn't required, but it's a nice touch.

Gift registries

The most important gift to us is to have you share our day.

Since we’ll only be home for a short stay, we have no registries as we’ll be limited on what can be taken back to China. However, if you wish to bless us with a gift in addition to your lovely smiles at our wedding, we welcome monetary gifts. Thanks!
